WHAT OUR CLIENTS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT US:
Dr. Alex Burke, PT, DPT
President & Founder
GET TO KNOW US
Alex earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Rhode Island in 2020. While at URI, he played for the Men’s Rugby Club and served as a Wide Receiver and Defensive Back Coach at his alma mater, North Kingstown High School, helping the team win three consecutive state championships.
Alex began his career in a traditional, insurance-based physical therapy clinic. While he valued the experience, he quickly realized that a concierge model better aligned with his personalized, hands-on approach to patient care.
He went on to work at TB12 Sports in Boston, where he further developed his expertise in manual therapy, massage, and exercise prescription. During his time at TB12, Alex worked with collegiate and professional athletes from across the country and developed a passion for helping people reduce pain, recover from injury and surgery, and return to the activities they love. It was also during this time that he discovered his own passion for running. Since 2021, he has completed nine marathons, including a personal best of 2:59:50. Since 2024, he has also competed in three 24-hour ultramarathons, running more than 110 miles in each and finishing in the top three in all three races. Alex also become a certified adult running coach in March 2026.
After TB12’s Boston location closed, Alex fulfilled a life-long dream and founded Apex Physical Therapy to continue providing the high level of personalized care he believes his clients deserve. He is passionate about helping people return to the sports, activities, and lifestyles they love following an injury, surgery, or setback—and then giving them the tools to stay healthy and perform at their best. Alex is currently accepting new clients.
